Welcome to my website, thanks for stopping by!

Paleontology, culture, and food: these topics seem disparate but all three somehow mesh together for me. I adore cooking, I love paleontology, and have a life-long fascination about world cultures, yes, one can do all three as an independent journalist.

First, check out my two blogs, Oklahomalocavore and Paleontology.

Oklahomalocavore celebrates the wonderfully diverse hyperlocal food produced right here in Oklahoma. And there’s a lot to be found, from pasta to salsa, heirloom vegetables to heavenly local wines. I’ll include one of my own recipes with each feature and occasionally spotlight restaurants using local farm-to-table ingredients.

The Paleontology Blog takes new looks at old finds, the backstory behind new discoveries, and the often-colorful paleontologists working in the field.

You can find me either out in the fossil-filled mountains of Wyoming, volunteering at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History’s paleontology prep lab in Norman, Oklahoma, in my Oklahoma City kitchen cooking and writing about food, or most easily at my e-mail address, see contact information. I’m invariably on my laptop—as a freelancer I delight in the fact that my office is anywhere my laptop is!

All the best,
